Ken Campitelli joins Phillips Screw Company as Military Program Director


Phillips Screw Company announces that U.S. Navy Capt. Ken Campitelli (ret) has joined the Phillips’ Aerospace Division as their Military Program Director supporting both military and defense industry customers.

Ken, who just completed a successful 29 year career with the US Navy as an Aerospace Maintenance Duty Officer, brings a wealth of experience in aviation maintenance, logistics, supply chain management, continuous process improvement, government contracting, and defense budgeting. In his last assignment, Ken served as the Naval Air Systems Command Executive Director for Logistics and Industrial Operations where he was responsible for the resources and requirements at the national level to develop, plan, and integrate support considerations throughout the full life cycle of aviation weapons systems. Ken is Department of Defense certified as an Acquisition Professional and also certified in both Defense Acquisition Logistics and Production, Quality and Manufacturing.

In his new position, Ken will team directly with Phillips Licensees, OEMs and defense industry companies as well as the military services developing solutions to fastener challenges.

Phillips Screw Company will benefit from Ken’s nearly three decades of experience in aviation and aircraft maintenance. In his military career, Ken oversaw the day-to-day maintenance operations for a variety of airframes including both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.

Ken also managed a variety of industrial maintenance facilities ashore and afloat that manufactured, repaired and overhauled thousands of airframes, engines and components annually.   His Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department team on the USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER proudly won the Commander Naval Air Atlantic Efficiency award and was singled out amongst all Department of Defense maintenance activities as the “best of the best” winning the 2000 Secretary of Defense Maintenance Award and the 2000 Secretary of Defense Phoenix Award.

Ken also understands the importance of driving down costs in the aviation industry. He was assigned to the Naval Air Systems Command as the Enterprise AIRSpeed Program Manager, implementing Continuous Process Improvement initiatives across 70 Organizational, Intermediate and Depot level aircraft maintenance activities saving $800M over a five year period. Enterprise AIRSpeed is a systems approach that aligns and optimizes maintenance and supply activities to end-user demand utilizing an integrated set of business tools, Theory of Constraints, Lean and Six Sigma. 

Ken holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico and a Masters of Arts in Management from Webster University.
